Friday’s Big Gainers: AIB, RIG, DIN

Allied Irish Banks (NYSE:AIB) said it will sell its interests in Poland for 3.1 billion Euro, to Banco Santander. AIB shares are up more than 6% Friday afternoon on the news.
Shares of Transocean (NYSE:RIG) also advanced more than 6%, after positive remarks from an analyst at FBR Capital Markets (NASDAQ:FBCM), and on news that the company has appealed a decision by Swiss regulators to block the company from paying a dividend. Transocean is scheduled to present at Barclays Capital CEO Energy-Power Conference on Wednesday.
DineEquity (NYSE:DIN), the parent company of both IHOP and Applebee’s restaurants, announced a proposed private offering of senior notes, as well as tender offers for certain existing notes. Barclays Capital (NYSE:BCS) and Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) are acting as the joint dealer managers. DineEquity shares were trading about 7% higher in afternoon trading Friday.
