In the corporate corner, Air Products & Chemicals (NYSE:APD) upped its offer for Airgas (NYSE:ARG) to $65.50 from $63.50 per share, equaling $5.5 billion.

Oracle’s (NASDAQ:ORCL) CEO Larry Ellison backed up his earlier comments on the wisdom of Hewlett-Packard’s (NYSE:HPQ) recent firing of CEO Mark Hurd, opening its co-President slot to Hurd. Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) upgraded Oracle shares to its Conviction Buy List, with a price target of $27.

Tonight I heard from a writer friend of mine who has been in this business for 20 years offering Investors through a paid subscription based Newsletter many fine opportunities to make money over the years. He released some news on a number of mining Companies which have gone ballistic in price based on a new Gold Play discovery in the Yukon. For those who have no idea of where this is located, look on the map of Canada and just North of British Columbia. You see in this business it has all to do with contacts and with my 25 years in the business, you get to know the good , the bad and the ugly. Fortunately, for me and my experience , I have met some very good people and contacts, from newsletter writers to Ceo’s of many public Companies. Contacts are what it is all about and knowledge makes or breaks your chances of making money in the stock market. You can do all the research you like and still not be on top of your game. That is why I started the Premium VIP service to give Investors the best edge possible based on my 25 years in the market and contacts i have garnered over the years. As I indicated tonight and have posted articles on Gold, I believe it is going to be one heck of a last quarter for just mining plays alone. I received a newsletter tonight with a stock recommendation on a particular gold stock as being hot. I researched this thing until I was blue in the face, and it is beyond me why a writer would even put it out to his members. The Company doesn’t have any money for drilling and the assay results from previous drilling completed by the Company, were a ” DUD” in my opinion. So I ask myself why would a newsletter pump a stock which has no future, based on current filings?. Just because it had good volume on Friday, he decides to issue it to his members.
